City Streets
04:31
|
|
||
your heels start to drag at the slightest hint of an incline,
you need a break, the city street washed from your mind,
but you're thinking that you'll never find the time you need to make your escape,
the motivating factors that you can't afford to watch fade away
it's never enough, it's never the same,
the city streets won't remember your name
the words that you hear when you listen in on their insights,
you can't relate, you'd rather leave it undefined,
i barely recognize the photos of the moments I've found,
there's too much distance from where I was then and I am now
falling off,
what's the hurry, what's the hurry,
staring on out by the road,
coming down, coming down,
you don't notice, you don't notice,
staring on out by the road
it's never enough, it's never the same...

Everybody Wants a Piece
04:10
|
|
||
My hands are in my pockets,
my plans are in the air,
I see the sun is coming,
And I'm trying not to stare,
The secret that is given,
Seems hard enough to bear,
And I feel like I'm breathing,
In someone else's air
And it feels like, everything's alright
and I know, and I know, this is not the only show
My hands are in my pockets,
Cuz I'm cold and unprepared,
For the capital confusion,
Decorated and impaired,
They're gonna try to rush you,
Claiming false emergencies,
Your job is to stay stainless,
While they oxidize your needs (your needs)
Everybody wants a piece,
Everybody wants a piece,
Everybody, everybody wants …
Everybody wants… a piece

Paper Weights
04:07
|
|

How do you know when enough is enough,
I've had trouble with this crutch before,
getting stuck,
misunderstanding those things that I must
figure out, before I lose my touch,
take me down,
when the bronze on my crown starts to brown or to rust
ooh, there's got to be more to this,
pacing and waiting around for it to all make sense,
my fears are paper weighted, calculated,
and i watch how they fade away
where would you go if you knew that the path,
only led to the lot with the old,
pavement cracks,
open your notebook and rewrites the past,
so go on home, watching old TV shows,
you should know,
the foundation is sinking so look out below
ooh, there's got to be more to this,
pacing and waiting around for it to all make sense,
my fears are paper weighted, calculated,
and i watch how they fade away
and i watch how they fade away...

Follow
04:23
|
|
||
For a minute there I thought I was,
For no reason that I understand,
For a way to reach the other side,
Well, the lights are drawing me in,
It's the right way to follow,
The sounds are drawing me in,
I can't wait til tomorrow,
No time for the moment, around it,
Wrong time for the quiet, a riot,
Right time for the rhythm, decide it,
Well, the lights are drawing me in,
It's the right way to follow,
The sounds are drawing me in,
I can't wait til tomorrow,
It's the right way to follow

Worn Out
04:09
|
|
||
Fractures abound is there something I'm missing I'm sailing,
I've unhooked the cords now I'm sitting here bored times a' changing,
I wait around til I notice myself that I'm fading,
Sometimes it's hard to see when I'm alone that I'm faking it
Oh my soul,
But I'll find a way to love it just the same,
I can't see the future or the past today,
Besides, it'll only get in the way
Call out your warnings as if they have value in saying,
Run for your life run as fast as you can you're still trailing,
I wait around til I notice myself that I'm fading,
Sometimes it's hard to see when I'm alone that I'm faking it
Oh my soul,
But I'll find a way to love it just the same,
I can't see the future or the past today,
Besides, it'll only get in the way
I'm worn out,
Is it so hard to believe,
Have you had enough self doubt,
Have you had enough
